Mrs. Cecelia L. Chamberlain
Executive Officer for Finance, Emeritus
WHEREAS Mrs. Cecelia L. Chamberlain served the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ with distinction in administrative and financial positions from 1989 to 1990 and from 1991 to 2023; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Chamberlain most recently played an invaluable role in managing the financial operations of the College of Indigenous Studies, where her expertise and institutional knowledge guided and informed critical decisions; and she has provided stability and enhanced the management of multiple rural campuses and their infrastructure; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Chamberlain has recruited, trained and mentored countless staff, acting on her conviction that UAF should develop its own fiscal professionals; and she has provided career and professional development opportunities to student employees who later moved into long-term career positions; and she helps everyone who works with her understand the ebb and flow of life at the university; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Chamberlain has served on countless committees for planning and budget issues, business services, recruitment initiatives, and leadership and management teamwork, including the rural campus directors council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ expresses its deep appreciation to Mrs. Cecelia L. Chamberlain for her extensive contributions to the state of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ and to the university; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Mrs. Chamberlain and as evidence of the university’s desire that her identification with the university be maintained, hereby salutes the appointment of Mrs. Cecelia L. Chamberlain as executive officer for finance, emeritus; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the chancellor of the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ as further evidence of the esteem and respect in which he holds Mrs. Cecelia L. Chamberlain, and conveyed to Mrs. Chamberlain on this sixth day of May, 2023.
