It's turning out to be a busy spring for the Mining and Petroleum Training Service.

Earlier this month, a group of mining instructors from spent several days at an underground mine training facility near Delta Junction.

The facility is run by MAPTS, part of the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension. The training program is part of an ongoing partnership with the Greenland school under a  three-year project sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

In addition, MAPTS is seeing high demand for its surface mining classes, as well as from Interior ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ residents who are looking for training for jobs at the Manh Choh Project.
