Phylicia Cicilio is adjunct faculty at ACEP. She was formerly a research assistant professor. She is a power systems engineer, focusing on ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥n electric grids and energy systems, with aims to reduce the cost of electricity and create a reliable and sustainable energy future. Her background and research interests reside in power system modeling and studies, including dynamics, stability, and reliability of inverter-based resources and distributed energy resources.
As research assistant professor, Cicilio led several ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥n Railbelt-focused projects and proposals, including co-leading the ACEP Railbelt Decarbonization Pathways project, which aimed to develop decarbonization pathways for the Railbelt while maintaining reliable and affordable electricity for ratepayers and promoting clean energy development.
She earned her B.S. in chemical engineering in 2013 from the University of New Hampshire, and M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering in 2017 and 2020, respectively from Oregon State University. Her dissertation focused on power system planning methods with dynamic loads and distributed energy resources.
