Army ROTC Program At UAF
Get more than an education.
In Army ROTC you can earn your degree, get scholarships to help pay for college, and gain leadership training that will enhance your life and career. Graduate with a career as a leader serving your country.
What is the ROTC?
The Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is one of the top leadership programs in the nation, and is the United States Army's primary officer training program. As an ROTC program student, you can complete all of the requirements of Army officer training while simultaneously attending college and earning your degree.
The Army ROTC program is an add-on to your traditional college curriculum. The program offers rigorous leadership training and help financing your college education, in return for your commitment to serve for a period of time as an Officer in the Army after you graduate.
Enrolling in the ROTC program is not the same as joining the Army. As an ROTC Cadet, you will not be sent to Basic Training, and you will not be called for service until you graduate and finish the program. If you’re interested in getting leadership training but not yet sure if you want to serve, you can also enroll in the ROTC Basic Course during your first two years of college. The ROTC Basic Course does not include a service commitment unless you have also received an ROTC scholarship.
When you graduate from the Army ROTC program at UAF, you’ll be prepared to serve as an Officer in the Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard. Why Choose UAF for Your ROTC Program?
